As we continue into the new year, we have project updates together with some exciting wider events and updates to share for the month ahead!
Wongani selected to join the Oxford Design Review Panel
We’re excited to share that Wongani has been appointed to the Oxford Design Review Panel. Wongani will be bringing his knowledge and experience of community engagement and design, especially with our hyperlocal expertise of working with communities in Oxford.
The Oxford Design Review Panel plays an essential role in promoting high quality design to help create better buildings, streets and public spaces in the city. It is a process in which major developments in the city will be reviewed by a panel of built environment professionals who sit outside of the project that is being reviewed.

Community-led housing workshop in Barton, Oxford
We will be running a workshop on Community-Led Housing together with Oxfordshire Community Land Trust and Owned by Oxford in Barton on Tuesday 18th March, between 5:30-7pm. This workshop will be about what kind of new housing we need in Barton, and how the community itself can take the lead in creating it.
It’s open to everyone. Please come along and share your views – no experience of housing development necessary! Find out more and sign up at this link.

Ozone Leisure Park Community Engagement
We’re excited to share with you a new project we’re working on. We have been appointed to deliver the community engagement for the leisure and community uses of the redevelopment of the Ozone Leisure Park. We will shortly be sharing details about the upcoming public co-design charettes, which will be an opportunity for people to help shape the reprovision of community and leisure uses on the site. We’ll be sending project-specific updates about this project. If you are interested in being kept up to date, then email us at ozone@transitionbydesign.org.
We’re excited at the opportunity to shape the future of the Ozone Leisure Park with the local community and users of the site!
