Architects Journal Feature
Wongani was interviewed by the Architects Journal about advice for students graduating from architecture. This was all part of the Architect’s Journal’s Student Prize edition, which features students nominated for the AJ Prize across all the architecture schools (one undergraduate student and one postgraduate student nominated per school). In a wonderful crossover, one of Wongani’s former students, Victoria Nistov, is nominated for the undergraduate prize. Wongani teaches an undergraduate unit together with Hannah Durham and Sam Chisholm, called Unit C: Building Stories. You can read the print copy of Wongani’s interview below, or purchase a physical copy here.

Regenerative Architecture Index Launch Party
This Thursday (2nd October), we will be travelling to London for the Regenerative Architecture Index Launch Party. We have put ourselves forward this year to be featured in Architecture Today’s Regenerative Architecture Index, as we feel our approach to our work and practice is moving towards and showcasing regenerative practice across a range of our projects and in how we work. We’ll wait to see if we are included in this year’s list. You can find out more about the previous practices included from 2024 here. If you’re interested in attending this Thursday’s event you can do so here.
The Regenerative Architecture Index benchmarks practices’ progress in the move towards regenerative practice and projects. It recognises the need for a built environment that isn’t merely reducing its negative impacts, but has positive impacts for today and the long term.

Networking in London for Church Housing Event
Wongani is on the grants and oversight committee for the Church of England’s housing project. The Housing Project is distributing £25,000 in pre-development funding for churches and parishes across the CofE to explore designing and building affordable housing on their land. Our experience to date in affordable housing and community-led housing has shown that pre-development funding is usually the trickiest funding to secure, so it is great to be able to support this initiative.
On Tuesday 23rd September Wongani went to a launch event at Lambeth Palace Library in London to network with other built environment professionals, vicars and those working in the Church of England towards unlocking sites for affordable housing. You can see some case study projects here.
