Mel is an educator with over 20 years' experience, a trustee of a UK registered charity and a registered architect with a passion for regenerative development and design. She is also skilled in embedding social practices applied to all aspects of architecture and urbanism. She is open minded and intellectually curious with a high degree of initiative, especially when it comes to workshop facilitation and concept idea generation. She has worked internationally across various countries including Thailand, India, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon and Colombia. Mel is able to work with deliberation and accuracy whilst inventively solving problems. A good communicator and relationship builder, team leader and team member. Mel is a co-founder of Architecture Sans Frontières UK(ASF-UK), having volunteered for over 15 years for the non-profit organisation that uses community-led design and planning to create fairer cities. Mel is also currently a Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the School of Architecture.
