Architectural Designer & Retrofit Coordinator

Member

Liv combines her technical knowledge of detailing with bio-based materials with with her passion for ethically responsible design to tackle complex issues like fuel poverty, gentrification and homelessness. She developed these skills whilst studying at the Centre for Alternative Technology, exploring the intersectionality of environmental and social injustices.

During her time at T/D Liv has worked with community groups and Community Land Trusts to identify local housing/spatial needs and developed effective strategies to meet this. She delivered the energy and embodied carbon modelling for Platform Housing Group's net zero retrofit strategy for 40,000 homes and is currently developing a research project on tenant-led retrofit.

Liv was also a coordinator of the Architect's Climate Action Network (ACAN) Education Group for four years, where she has facilitated workshops with tutors, heads of schools and students on climate literacy and the power of collective action. Liv is an active member of the Section of Architectural Workers Trade Union and believes that collective organising builds the power necessary to transform systemic inequality through grassroots movements.
