We provided specialist consultancy with our regular collaborators Bioregional for the low energy retrofitting of 14 residential homes and 4 commercial properties in Bicester with Cherwell District Council. A range of measures from external wall insulation to solar PV tiles.
The project had to overcome some specific design challenges ensuring the sensitive balance between energy saving and conservation of historic buildings such as the subtle inclusion of PV slates into a traditional roof in a conservation area. Residents responded very positively to the project with high levels of satisfaction and attention to detail.
The funding for the project came from the Department of Energy & Climate Change. The National Energy Foundation project-managed the installation with a range of local installers.
