Cohousing is an alternative model to the developer-led, market driven housing that abounds today. Cohousing communities are intentional communities owned and managed by their residents. Each household has a self-contained, personal and private home but residents come together to manage their community, sharing assets and activities together – a model that has proven highly successful in Europe but has yet to make waves in the UK.
We have been working with the Oxford Cohousing group since 2013 offering a range of services, from a brief writing and visioning co-design workshop to ongoing architectural design work.
Recently T/D has joined together with C20 Future Planners, Jon Broome Architects, Reiter Architekten and Hoop Architecture to provide a strategic overview, planning advice, project coordination and architectural services to help steer the group towards realising their vision.
